IFPRI/TMAPPP Powder Flow Workshop, van der Valk Hotel A4 Hoofddorf (Schipol Airport), January 224-25, 2017
The workshop objective is to pose scientific questions toward understanding relations between particle properties and bulk powder flow dynamic behavior with an eye on industrial process performance. Specifically, the workshop attendees will consider and discuss three issues: 1) Characterize the state-of-the-art in powder flow; 2) Confront the "Grand Challenge" of relating particle properties and powder bed microstructure to bulk flow behavior; and 3) Define 3 critical scientific questions/problems in powder flow that IFPRI and other funding sources should promote.
Although the meeting will include brief presentations of the state-of-the-art in powder flow, the meeting will focus on small group brainstorming on the above three questions. Therefore, invited academcis will not make long formal contributions, but rather share factual materials to support specific ideas.
The chairs for the workshop are Mr. Timothy Bell of DuPont and PRofessor Michel Louge of Cornell University. The workshop is jointly organized with the TMAPPP European network (https://www.t-mappp.edu/).
We expect approximately 60 participants in the workshop, evenly split beetween invited academic and industrial scientists from IFPRI and TMAPPP.
To be added soon.
