Meetings Overview

This section describes IFPRI meetings including Annual General Meetings, Workshops, Roundtable Meetings, and Monthly Teleconference Meetings.

Annual General Meetings are held once a year, typically in June or July at a location typically associated with a funded reseach program. Each Annual General Meeting is 5 days which includes Business Meetings, presentations of reviews and project updates, Bob Pfeffer Seminar on current research by outstanding particle technologists, Student Poster Presentations and Competition, and IFPRI program review and brief writing. Each succeeding page will provide details of the meetings (as available) including location, dates, meeting agenda, attendees and any output from the meeting (power point presentations, poster presentations, and proposal briefs).

Winter Meetings are held once a year, typically in January at a hotel location typically associated with a large interantional airport. Each Winter Meeting is 2 days which includes a Business Meeting and discusssion of current projects and proposals for the next Annual General Meeting. Each succeeding page will provide details of the meetings (as available) including location, dates, meeting agenda, attendees and any output from the meeting and meeting minutes.

Workshops are focused meetings where a single topic is discussed. A workhop is typically limited to 35 attendees and will include IFPRI members, invited Academic Experts and invited industrial experts. Workshops are usually two days and include presentations of the current state of the art and breakout sessions to development technology strategic plans. Each succeeding page will provide details of the meetings (as available) including location, dates, meeting agenda, attendees and any output from the meeting (power point presentations, poster presentations, and recommndations).

Roundtable Discussions are meetings to discuss technology best practices by IFPRI members. Typically, these meetings are 2-5 hours long and can be addenums to Annual General Meetings or Workshops or can be teleconference meetings. These meetings are focused on non-proprietary discussions of technology practices. Generally, 5-15 IFPRi members participate in these meetings. Each following page will include location, dates, meeting agenda, attendees and any output from the meeting.

Monthly Meetings are teleconference meetings hosted by the IFPRI Secretary. Attendees typically include IFPRI members and IFPRI Administration including the President and the Vice President. Each page following will include the date, meeting agenda, attendees and meeting minutes.
