2022 Winter Meeting Materials
The 2022 winter meeting is on the horizon: January 11-12. Thanks to the continuing (and continuing, and...) pandemic, the meeting will be virtual via Zoom.
Five project briefs were sent out for proposals. We received two responses each for three of them. Two of the academics I contacted for the aeration of Geldart type C particles declined to submit proposals, so we only have one proposal for that project. Tragically, Jim Swan passed away days after submitting his proposal for the computational modeling of suspensions project, so we only have one proposal for that project as well.
We also sent out two review briefs, and we should receive extended outlines for them. We approved a third review, on sustainability of spray drying processes, but after a helpful discussion with Roland Clift, we decided that the objective of the brief was too closely tied to company-specific spray drying processes and therefore not appropriate as an IFPRI review topic.
Finally, we have three renewals to consider: Wetting and dispersion of powders (Gaiani); Characterization of spray nozzles (Ashgriz); Slurry and Paste Rheology (Koos).
I will attach proposals and review outlines below as I receive them. Please circulate them in your companies and be prepared to discuss them at the meeting.
I've added a compendium file (listed first) so you can easily distribute the proposals to your colleagues. This is missing the proposal on Simulation of Dispersions and Suspensions by Roseanna Zia (Stanford University) which I still hope to receive before the winter meeting.
