2023 Winter Meeting Materials
It's time to get ready for our 2023 winter meeting, which is scheduled on January 17 & 18 at Schiphol Airport. This will consist of a short business meeting and a longer discussion of the technical program. Most of our time will be spent discussing new and renewal project proposals and review outlines.
Five project briefs were advanced at the last AGM. One of these, continuum modeling of powder flow in industry, has evolved from a conventional IFPRI project into something different. Eric Grolman and Pieter Vonk will present a proposal for this project at the meeting. I sent out the briefs for the remaining four projects and expect to receive two proposals for each for our review. We should receive all but one of these proposals in time for the meeting.
I was able to place all three of the reviews, but we'll receive an outline for only one of these for discussion at the meeting: Particle shape characterization by Basarajav (IIT Madras). We'll have to review a second after the meeting: Pore size and saturation characterization, Matthias Thommes (FAU). The third review, modeling particle transport in mills and classifiers has been deferred to 2024 at the request of the author (Jesse Capelecatro, U. MIchigan).
We also have five renewal proposals to consider: Csaba Sinka, Rachel Smith, Jan Vermant, Arno Kwade, and Prabhu Nott.
I'll add proposals and review outlines as I receive them. Please be prepared to discuss these at the winter meeting.
